Cinder Track Fabrication

Charles is the kind of guy to say "Yeah I can do that in a day" and then you sit back and watch in awe of how quickly yet precisely he takes on projects that would take normal people like me at least a week to complete. Charles Ebenezer Eastman Sandborn IV is an F15 Crew Chief in the Air Force but when he's not serving our country he's fabricating works of art for customers from all over the country as Cinder Track Fabrication. His main product being turbo manifolds like you see below, which at one time were sold on Enjuku, along with roll cages, bash bars, and any odds and ends you might need.

"The whole welding thing came out of necessity" He explained to me as I wandered around the shop looking at all the odds and ends of tubing, manifolds, turbos, and metal shavings. Charles has a massive love for drifting and has owned/drifted more cars than years I've been alive. But the fabrication side came from not wanting to pay more for parts he felt he could make, so that kicked off learning how to weld. Watching youtube tutorials, getting advice from friends, and a whole lot of practice brought him to a spot where he could start producing parts or fabricating things for customers. One of his customers who was at the shop at the time when I visited, Quentyn from More Skids.

Quentyn was down from Washington after he had gotten into a front end crash with the wall at the first event for Villans Sportsland. Charles had gone up to help Quentyn get the car running so he could drive day two of the event, he then trailered it down so they could make a tubed front end for the upcoming weekend as there was a big event at PARC (Pats Acres Racing Complex) Not only was Quentyns car in need of work but Charles's current drift chassis, an IS300 with a 500hp 1JZ was in need of a new short block.

Between Tuesday on my first visit, and Friday when Quentyn showed up, Charles got an entire setup swapped onto the new short-block and got it running in his car. Even with a late start on Friday he got the front end cut off the S13 and a tubed front welded up so they could drive together at PARC on Sunday. With some motivation from his best friend Daniel Chapman, nicknamed Chappy, Charles always gets it done and gets it done right while producing beautiful work.

Charles is also starting to venture into the world of vlogging on Youtube. Showing people how he makes things at the shop and taking you along for his ventures out at drift events or collaborating with other Youtubers. This outlet allows Charles to help out more people as he is always keen to lend a hand for anyone willing to learn. Chappy is a great example of this because Charles has been able to help him learn welding, along with many other things when pertaining to cars.

We'll be doing a deep dive on Chappy's S30 that's hiding a monster engine swap underneath soon so be ready for that. Cinder Track Fabrication is one of those shops that deserves much more recognition and hopefully that comes quickly because Charles and Chappy bust their butts. Thanks again to Charles, Chappy, and Quentyn for having me out. Please check out the extras below!
