To address the elephant in the room, I am not Joshua Brown. My name is TJ Mimura and Josh has recently brought me on board to contribute to content creation for Lucky Club, which means you can expect more frequent content added onto what you have already grown to know.

Now that is out of the way allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I am a 21 year old male from Boise, Idaho with a passion for art and style which is mostly expressed through my cars and photography. For the sake of structure I will first dive into my history with cars and then photography after.

My first car related memories are playing with hot wheels and catching glimpses of my fathers '79 corvette that lives under a cover in the garage. I grew up only interested in American made muscle cars until about middle school when I heard a sound that changed my life. I was cruising around downtown with my best friends older brother when I heard it. Unfortunately that sound was none other than the unmistakable rumble of a turbocharged flat 4 driven by a teenager, otherwise known as a Subaru WRX. That moment is when I knew I was destine to become a Subaru owner.

Fast forward a few years and it is the summer before Junior year of high school, one of the most important moments in a car enthusiasts life, the summer that you get your license. With the school year quickly approaching and a license in my pocket it was my goal to never ride a school bus ever again. I was still as infatuated with the Subaru WRX as the first time I heard one just a few years earlier. However keep in mind that the year is 2014 and Subaru Tax is at its peak so the chances of finding a WRX in my price range before the first day of school was very slim. Just when I was ready to call it quits on a WRX and settle for a different car I saw an ad for a 2003 Subaru WRX Wagon which was just barely above my price range but I was ready to make it happen. Surprisingly enough that night before I could tell my mom about a WRX I found she informed me that a family friend was selling their Subaru and that we should look at it. To my surprise it was the exact same car from Craigslist. I test drove the car and that same day I was the proud new owner of a used high mileage Bugeye Wrx wagon.

Since that day in 2014 I have put over 50,000 miles on that same WRX and learned virtually everything I know with that car. From changing oil too attempting to paint it myself with no help, that car has been the guinea pig for all of it. Unfortunately my WRX spun a bearing in June of 2019 and has been sitting in the same spot of my driveway since then but keep an eye out for an article in 2020 once I get it back on the road.

Before I get to my brief history of taking photos other cars that I have owned include a 1990 Lexus LS400 (which has been previously featured on this site) a manual 1998 Subaru Forester that was H6 swapped and was lifted with bigger tires (also featured on this site) a RWD converted 1995 H6 swapped Subaru Impreza that I only drove off a trailer before selling it after becoming overwhelmed with projects, a 1999 Subaru Outback, and now my daily driver 2007 Honda Fit which I plan on making into a daily auto x/track car.

Now onto photography, I currently shoot on a Canon 5d classic with a Canon 50mm 1.4 and while I have had my camera for less than a year I have always been interested in photography. While I haven't been taking photos very long I would like to give a massive thank you to my photography mentors Malcomb Scott and Josh Brown. Without them my photos would be much worse than they already are so thank you two for being great teachers and even better friends.

Moving forward I am very excited to create content for you, the reader. I can't wait to show you car culture through my lens.
