Boise Cars and Coffee: Reviving a show after tragedy

If you're local to the Boise area then you heard about the accident that happened at Cars and Coffee mid September last year. A driver decided to do the one thing everyone looks down on when leaving an event like this and showed off instead of leaving civilly. Sadly adding to a long list of accidents like this happening at car events. Thankfully no one died but there were multiple people seriously injured and hopefully everyone can learn from this.

Respectably the people behind that cars and coffee show decided to withdraw from hosting any more events but that opened up a spot for someone to step in and do it better. The boys @boisecarsandcoffee sprung onto the scene and brought back one of the best shows in the area. The pictures throughout the article are from their season opener that is more of a feeler to gauge interest, and the results were phenomenal.

Not only did they fill the lot, but it spread into the excess areas around the main area and had a constant flow of people. After experiencing C&C Lehigh Valley it's nice to see the same sort of event being grown in the area. Police presence and frowning upon anyone revving or making excessive noise which will turn into being kicked out brings this new start to C&C a huge step above where the old show left off.

The best thing about these events, and why they're so necessary for the car community is that they provide such a wonderful blend of people and styles. There are car meets, shows, races, but cars and coffee lets you experience all these styles and meet people who are involved in all kinds of automotive ventures. Ever wanted to see a group of classics parked next to brand new GTR's? Or maybe an old school beach cruiser with the surfboard to boot. Cars and coffee events are the place to be when you want variety and endless stories from all walks of life.

Hopefully these events continue to grow and pop up everywhere because it's one of my favorite experiences being an automotive photojournalist. So if you get a chance, whether it's a 10 minute drive or 4 hours, I encourage you to go at least once to just walk around and talk to people. No cliques, gangs, crews, clubs, just people and their cars. Next @boisecarsandcoffee event is on June 30th, I hope to see you there.
